Fun Ideas To Host Your Own Diaper Drive
- Don’t do all the work yourself - convene a "Diaper Committee!" It’s more fun and a great leadership and team-building activity for your group.
- Make the area where people will be bringing the diapers fun. Set up a crib or playpen to keep the diapers in and decorate the area with other baby related items.
- Have a "Who’s That Baby?" contest in your workplace. Ask employees to bring in pictures of themselves when they were babies. Post them on a bulletin board for everyone to see and have employees guess who they are. Have them vote on cutest baby, most changed adult, adult who still looks like their baby picture, etc.
- On the first day of the drive, hold a "Poopsicle Party" and give fudgesicles to everyone who brings in a packet of diapers. Or have the party after the drive is over to thank everyone.
- Alternatively, you can distribute "Poopsie Rolls" (tootsie rolls) to people who participate or as a reminder to bring in diapers.
- Challenge other companies in your building or area to a Diaper Drive.
- Does your company have a corporate matching program? The Diaper Bank can estimate the dollar value of the diapers you collect.
- Involve the public if possible. We can post your Drive on our website. Can you give a discount or gift to people who bring in a package of diapers?
- Be sure to download the Diaper Bank’s Fact Sheet to inform your group why contributing to the Diaper Bank is so important to our community.
- Inform your group about the drive through your newsletter, internal email and with flyers and posters.
- Invite someone from the Diaper Bank to talk to your group about why the Diaper Bank exists and how they are making a difference with their diaper and monetary contributions.
- Set up a jar to collection spare change. Call it "Time for a Diaper Change."
- Host a bake or arts and crafts sale to raise money.
- Host a "Don-ate Day" and give a donut to everyone who makes a contribution to the Diaper Bank.
- Host a "Casual Day" at your workplace and ask employees to donate to the Diaper Bank in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work.
- Have a "Food for Thought" at your workplace day where employees bring their lunch to work and donate the money they would have spent eating out to the Diaper Bank.
